Download here. SFJ alerted me to this (via his blog, actually; sadly I do not have the Superfriends hookup that others do with him) and three things lead me to believe this will kick me in the face with love:

1) Strictly Kev = from DJ Food
2) it's hosted on Boom Selection
3) lookit that title!!!

It'll take another half-hour for it to finish downloading so I'll weigh in further then.

i meant to post about this - Kev told me about 6 weeks ago he was planning on doing the ultimate tribute to cut-ups type thing but wasn't sure - great to see he went through with it. extremely congested and not always flowing but just as great as you would hope/expect.

Finally got around to listening to the whole thing. It gets monstrously boring to these ears when it plunges into Negativland/ECC/Oswald turf and doesn't get interesting again until the Osymyso/bootleg phenom section. But that scratching segment had me giddy and stupid.

Some quick takes: sadly, the Paul Morley bits stop the flow cold. But the hip-hop section is delightfully and thrillingly expanded...even if contemporary hip-hop cut-and-mix seems to be represented only by turntablism (OK, well, there's the new Beasties and Jay snippets at the beginning but...).

I'm listening to this now and it's beyond brilliant. Much better sound quality and more polished with some astonishing blends... the Uptown Top Ranking/We Will Rock You alone makes it worth the download.
And the politics of the song are spectacular! SOOOO recommended; it's pretty much all over the web now but I think you can still find it up at Boom Selection.
