I say Classic. Kinda gives a new perspective to AC/DC for me.

He left out the line about 'all the SHIT they teach you in school' for "Rock 'n' Roll Singer" = it's flawed.

I say classic too, but I wish his "covers" phase didn't last as long as it did.

I love everything this man has done, so classic for me.

Jim have you listened to Sun Kil Moon?

I have a co-worker who professes to be a mega-hipster, and who seemed to have this on endless iPod repeat. At one point I mentioned the AC/DC connection offhand (assuming he knew); it turns out he had no idea . . . he thought it was a batch of new Kozelek tunes. Which means he has no functional knowledge of AC/DC. Bad, bad hipster.

I think this is a pretty good experiment of a record. Mostly classic.

I wish it hadn't repeated stuff already released on Rock and Roll Singer, otherwise, classic.

saw him perform last night and he did a cover of husker du's 'celebrated summer'. does that appear on any of his records? it was fantastic; as he began i couldn't quite place the song, only knew that it sounded beautiful...then it slowly dawned on me what song it was. stripped down and given the koz treatment it became something like a white album-era john lennon composition (i mean that as the highest order of compliment). who knew that underneath all of the blistering guitars, bob mould was hiding the eighties version of 'dear prudence'? i mean i've heard all the byrds/husker du comparisons, but this was positively beatles to my ears. "somewhere in april time they add another hour..."

he finished off the show (encore #2) by belting out a few tunes acapella. and when i say belting them out, i mean, he really belted them out, and then some. the guy is truly a force of nature; intensely raw & sensitive lyrical content notwithstanding. some kind of tai chi metaphor is coming to mind-- like steel wrapped in cotton.

does anyone else think he out-neilyoungs neil young on the sun kil moon record?
