New word: hipsterbation

I would like to enter this one into the vernacular. I don't think there's a suitably derogatory term in our language for the nepotistic masturba-thon occurring in dimly lit clubs and bars all across the planet (though mostly only in regions where having a stupid haircut is not punishable by law).

How many times a week do you hipsterbate?

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

The term opens up a rather promising host of variations:

Does Ja Rule Gangstabate?
Does Glen Danzig Monsterbate?
Does Sean Fanning Napsterbate?
Do dictionary afficianados Websterbate?

I'll get my coat.

I know of a couple locales here in town that I can think of as not much more than simply dens for hipsterbation. I love this word, honestly.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 23 January 2004 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex: and the even more discriminating might choose to OEDerbate instead.

no, no, this is a good word. problem is, i can already see the end, wherein a good word will eventually annoy the living shit out of each and every one of us who liked it simply because it will get used far too often. and be misappropriated, or at least, so we'll feel.

(that being said, i'd like to see an instance of autoerotic asshatiation, myself.)

janni (janni), Friday, 23 January 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)
