American Death Ray: best rock band no one seems to have heard of

The best way I can describe them (especially their recent LP "A New Commotion....") is that they're the Strokes, if the Strokes had energy and a wall of sound and more interesting ideas. I haven't heard their first one, but this and their second ("Smash Radio Hits") are MUST OWNS! I first heard them when I saw them live and picked up "SRH" and a 7" release. These guys are great, anyone else know 'em?

As much as I love walls of sound, I'm not fool enough to think of it as being an "interesting idea". Not for a few decades anyway.

"Hey dude, you know what we could do? We could play really loud, like, all the way through the song!"

"DUDE! We'll blow their minds!"

"It's the most interesting idea I've had since I thought it would be cool to form a metal band but sing about stuff that metal bands are too serious to sing about!"

"You're the man when it comes to interesting ideas."

if you can just scroll up there and reread that you'll see that I noted they have a wall of sound to them, NOT that it was an interesting idea. It's a noted difference from the more sparse sound of the Strokes. Clever, though.
