sucka (sucka), Saturday, 24 January 2004 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Seven inch: Deep Purple, "Might just take your life"
(I can't remember how I got this. I hardly ever bought 7" singles. Somehow even at an early age, some part of me decided I was an albums sort of bloke. It was probably the influence of seeing the cool dudes from the year above me at school stood at the bus stop with "Brain Salad Surgery" tucked under their arms. You couldn't do that with a 7". Well, you could, but it didn't have the same iconic effect. Which of course with hindsight may have been a Jolly Good Thing, but at the time an ELP album sleeve held a certain je ne sais quoi, believe it or not.)

LP (12"): A Top of the Pops compilation
(One of those with a foxy lady on the cover where sessions musicians covered current chart hits)

12" Single: The Cult, "Resurrection Joe"
(I'm not 100% sure about this, but again I had almost no 12" singles, but the couple I did have coincided with a brief flirtation with G*th)

Cassette: Pink Floyd, Relics

CD Single: Leftfield, "Release the Pressure"

CD Album: Various, Q DCCCD II (Q Magazine cover CD)
(I didn't get a CD player until 1993. I was a student and pretty skint, so my first purchases were all magazine cover CDs, midprice back catalogue reissues in HMV threefer deals, and second hand stuff. I think I might have bought this before I had the CD player and kept it in anticipation of being able to play it. Which means that the first track I played on CD was very probably "Love is stronger than justice" by Sting. *Cough*)

Minidisc: Never owned

8-track: Never owned

MP3: Don't know. Probably something from epitonic.com

Snnap Dragon (snnap dragon), Saturday, 24 January 2004 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Cassingle: Never felt the need to have one until Paula Abdul, "Blowing Kisses in the Wind"

CD Single: Something that was mailed to me that I've long since forgotten.

CD Album: KFOG, "Live From the Archives" (charity compilation from a SF radio station)
