How much is music worth?

99p to download a song? £16.99 for a CD album? £750 on eBay for Twoism? £100,000 at Sotheby's for an acetate of Sgt Pepper? SLSK an artist's entire back catalogue for nothing? £2 for the Faust box on sale? How much are you willing to pay? Is that rare 12" that you've never listened to lest you damage it actually worth the £X you paid for it? Is that 7" which cost 50p and has been played to death and loved countless times more valuable? Should good records be worth more than bad records?

music is worth its weight in gold. and it's priceless. and it is free for all to hear and make. listen to the river and the trees. and find me a box of sealed original Missing Links records cuz they are going for, like, 1200 dollars on ebay right now.

Depends on the resale value of course. Anything on CD is worthless, as are instruments that don't have famous people's autographs on them. Songs that can be converted in ringtones are valuable for whoever owns the copyright.
