Fly posters - who does them?

This might sound like a bit of an off-topic question, but who is responsible for putting flyposters up? I've never seen one being put up at all, but they're everywhere...

The Franz Ferdinand ones all over the place cheered me up this morning

Men in white vans come and put them up during the night. I wish I knew who was responsible. I tried pumping a friend of mine in PR for information, but he wouldn't return my email, the bastard. The Franz Ferdinand ones are pretty. I'm sure I don't like the band, but I like the posters.

There's a company called Trinity Street thats repsonsible for a lot of the ones in London. They do flyering outside gigs too.

Apparently in Edinburgh there's an organised crime bacground to the major postering companies. Each has its definite turf and they don't take kindly to other people posting on it.

In London there are a few firms who do the fly-posting in their own manors. Yes, they are criminals. No, you do not want to put a poster up on their patch.
This was certainly true a few years ago; I don't know if things have changed since. I very much doubt it.
