Neubauten's "Perpetuum Mobile"

Has anyone heard this? Is this the same record as their "Supporter Album #1" (which I previewed online and found rather tepid)? How does it stack up against their other releases?

I'm assuming it's a continuation of the quieter and more melodic drift of their evolution, so it's not as if I'm expecting chapter two of "Kollaps". Thanks.

Looks like it might be the same thing as there's something on their site which lists "Perpetuum Mobile" as a track on "Supporter Album #1". I'm holding out hope on this one again...wasn't a huge fan of Silence is Sexy but I do generally like them in their quiet phase too.

It's pretty good. I haven't listened to it enough yet to decide whether it's better than Silence Is Sexy (which, aside from the title track, I liked quite a bit), but it's definitely on a plane with that album. Similarly quiet and controlled, and very beautiful in parts. Don't know that I'd like to see them play it live - the SIS tour was pretty goddamned boring. But it's a good headphone album.

Does anyone think Neubauten is the U2 its okay to like? i.e. Beginning by apdapting Go4,PIL to fit sound of yr home town (Thin Lizzy/Stockhausen)+ Cold War angst + gradual refinement leading to 90s post-Berlin Wall reinvention w/ one going relatively more experimental while the other became more conventional. (I do like them, btw)

The show I saw on the Silence is Sexy tour was awesome! I saw them play in Boston. Stone Temple Pilots were playing at the club next door, and you could hear them through the (very thin) walls! This angered Blixa a lot, and he said "Ja, I hear there are some...Pilots playing next door? We will DROWN THEM OUT WITH OUR NOISE!!' So it was a pretty goddamn ferocious show. If the band could still hear the 'Pilots next door', they would ramp up how loud they were. It was hilarious.

that does sound awesome geeta...

i've seen neubauten play several times and each time i was utterly amazed at the precision and intensity with which they played, quiet or deafening.

Was this the same place Terrastock V was? Hilarious!

two weeks pass...
Revive!
Any feedback on this?
I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks, but still haven't found this album in stores.

OK, I got this now and I'm loving it so far. Pretty much the continuation of Silence but without the cheesy aspects of that album and probably a bit darker and more adventurous (e.g. all but one song are in German).

one year passes...
revive part deux!
now that we've had close to two years to mull over their latest album, what are everyone's thoughts?
i for one still think its great, but 'Silence' may be a bit better. nothing on the newest album can beat 'Sabrina' or 'Alles.'

as an aside, when Blixa starts singing about bumblebees on Yume and Meyou i can't stop giggling.
