A while back I heard a song of theirs online on the BBC and I really liked it. Being in the US I don't really hear anything about them as I'm assuming they're just starting out. Has anyone seen them live or heard much of their recorded work?

Not one response yet, I'm not sure if this means:

A) nobody cares
B) nobody knows (not likely btw)

So you can see my dilemma, I still care and now I'm left to wonder, should I???

Yes, you should! I'm guessing the song you've heard is "Lottery winners on acid", via the John Peel Show on Radio One ('cos i can't imagine any one else playing it on the BBC...)and you should know that their other songs are just as good, especially "Baby boom" and "Isobelle".....i saw 'em play a couple of weeks back and they were really good, so, yeah, buy their records!

'lottery winners on acid' was fantastic. i haven't managed to find anywhere selling it yet, so if you do, let me know..

i didn't realise they had released anything else. is there an album?

.... I think it's possibly the worst name for a band I've ever heard in my life and, therefore, I will strive with every sinew of my being never to hear a single note of anything they ever produce.

Strive with your sinews all you like - the name isn't THAT bad.

I preferred The Crocketts (who some of them at least used to be). The song they had in the festive 50 this year wasn't very good.

Mediocre pish. Was that song really number 1 in the festive 50, as I read somewhere (I think the Welsh media, who tend to lie get things slightly muddled about their principality's bands...)

Mencap - no, think it was in the top 10 somewhere, but not too high.

Their new single is absolute drivel. Soemone should give their guitarist a finger-dectomy.
RUBBISH.
Pish.
Urgh.

one year passes...
The Crimea are getting pretty 'big' in the UK now, they're song 'lottery winners on acid' came number 2 in the festive fifty on radio 1, and the video is getting regular airplay on mtv2, plus the track is even being played during the daytime on radio 1, getting support from jo whiley, as well as zane low naming it his single of the week..

If you liked them then there album is out to buy now, tragedy rocks.. you can purchase it via their website i think - http://www.thecrimea.net

I think they are great, but personally will always prefer the crocketts' stuff i think, still a big fan..

definately make a purchase.. also check out davey's myspace www.myspace/thecrimea he contributes to it a good few times a week - worth checking out..

Sorry it this reply reached you late, and you havent lost your interest!!
