Dead Prez would be on that list had they released the REAL album they made, called RBG. Still not sure why it didn't come out. Was really dark, but entertaining in spots.

I chose to use rap over hip hop because I wanted to have people include any album with MCing without people squabbling over genre details (so Soca Gold 2003 is a luverly choice).
And I chose rap over MCing because, although it suggests "US cultural imperialist domiance" it tweaks people who always inform you that we shouldn't call it rap music (everybody knows genre names should designed to irritate the musicans who work within the genre - why I loved the term trip hop so much - descriptive and it pissed Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky off) but hip hop (even if I do the same, pissing a rockist friend off by refering to his rock collection as sing music).

(Note: you could aggregate the score for my first choice with the scores for Ragga Ragga Ragga! 2003, since it contains many of the same tracks, and more besides ... hence it's bettah!)

― Josh Timmermann (Josh Timmermann), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)
Almost in there: Viktor Vaughn, Lyrics Born, Prefuse, DM & Jemini
The Bobby Konders is easily the most all-encompassing dancehall mix but the mixing disappointed me and Biggest Ragga Dancehall Anthems 2004 has whole songs and really picks the most definitive pieces IMO. Both are cool though.

The beats were done by Ant from Atmosphere and I think it's his best (and certainly most consistant) work to date.
I would heartily suggest you purchase/download it. If you like what you've heard so far, you're sure to like the album.
