Staind "So Far Away" - What do you think?

I'm not really a fan of modern rock on the radio, and I've never really cared for Staind in particular, but I can't stop listening to this song.

Mainly I just love the chorus. Just something about it I really don't understand. Just curious if anyone else has heard it and think it's a pretty damn impressive song or a big heaping pile of nu-metal shit....

I think it's a slow retread of the Used's "The Taste Of Ink" but I'm just happy that Staind is singing about being something close to happy.

The only other song I had heard by them was "It's Been A While" had a really horrible and depressing mood to it, and I mean depressing as in it literally depressed me to hear it.

I don't think the song in question really sound like Alice In Chains at all, or Nirvana or Pearl Jam, etc. Sure, the verses and the bridge are pretty sub-standard, but something about the melody in the chorus is melancholic guitar pop that just catches you ear, more so than the usual fare.
