TS: "The Choice Is Yours (Revisited)" vs. "Strobelite Honey"

This is actually an important question, as it will effect which of the songs will go on a compilation I'm working on. I love them both dearly but must choose ONLY ONE.

PS if all of you say another song just to be smart-asses, I'm using "U Mean I'm Not" instead

PPS These are songs by Black Sheep, the rap duo from the 90s, for those of you who detest song threads that don't mention the artist.

Strobelite Honey wins for sampling Young & Company

Kounterklockwiseologist (Andy K), Thursday, 29 January 2004 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

What about Strobelight Honey(the Salaam Remi remix)

The Choice Is Yours....engine engine no.9!!!!!

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 29 January 2004 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm counting the votes by the way. Finally tally will occur when... um.... it's time to put the goddamn thing together. :)

(and i have three different version of the "Strobelite Honey" 12", with about 15 different remixes, but I've listened to them all, but I still like the original the best... hint: S.O.S. Band "Take Your Time" samples are the bestest)

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 29 January 2004 22:00 (twenty-two years ago)

so 1 for Choice, 1 for Strobelight (the original)....

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 29 January 2004 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Strobelight ho that I don't know walks up, says "Yo, Dres," and we quickly do the step.

That said, Mully's OTM about "Similac Child"... with those sampled barking dogs... god, that album is classic.

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Thursday, 29 January 2004 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Strobelite. But Similac Child also wins for sampling Jefferson Airplane as well...

M Specktor (M Specktor), Thursday, 29 January 2004 22:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Strobelite!

pudding (js williams), Thursday, 29 January 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Choice, but the best song they ever made was the "Simulak Child" (Homogenized Remix)

Rollie Pemberton (Rollie Pemberton), Friday, 30 January 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Man they need their first album fucking remastered. It would be a dancefloor classic if it didn't sound like shit.

djdee2005, Friday, 30 January 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

The choice has been made. (and it was yours, in the plural way, thanks guys.. but you're more than welcome to continuing choosing)

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 30 January 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

"strobelite honey" wins because disco is better than funk *ducks*

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 30 January 2004 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Strobelite honey has the added advantage of not having been sampled by Fatboy Slim.

djdee2005, Friday, 30 January 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

*throws bootsy's bass at stongo*

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 30 January 2004 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Strobelite, and djdee otm.

Haha, 'stongo'.

Barima (Barima), Friday, 30 January 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Barima (Barima), Friday, 30 January 2004 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)
