a little bit short on notice, but am taking a nice little trip cross-country next week. already had recommendations for Stinkweeds and Zia Record Exchange from a friend, but wondered if anyone here might have more that are fairly easily accessible via public transit in the Phoenix area?

thanks!

it still exists?!?! my friend suggested that, too, but she thought it had closed long ago...she hasn't lived there in a few years, but she thought it was about to close before she moved here, i think.

cool, i'll try to find out where exactly it is and how to get there from where i'll be, then. thanks! :)

Stinkweeds and Eastside Records in Tempe.

Yeah, I can't think of any more notable ones than the ones already recommended, although recently a few dj-oriented shops have sprung up in downtown Tempe. I know very little about that scene though so I can't comment on any of them. And Rockaway is still in Mesa as far as I know. Though I haven't actually been in there since 1997...

I usually frequent Stinkweeds, partially because Zia is noisy for my tastes, but I've found good used stuff in Zia.

i must give another endorsement for stinkweeds. a really great store.... it's not huge but it just has such a large percentage of great stuff. i found two slowdive live cd-rs when i went there last year..
