FIRST OFF: Mystikal is WAY underrated as an MC, IMHO
NEXT
Mystikal was convicted and sentenced for about 5 years for
raping a hairdresser and videotaping said act.
The 1st question that comes to mind: why? I mean, he's a
fairly muscular, good-looking gent, and probably richer than
your average yobbo. So why resort to this sickening strategy?
Probably because he's obsessed by sex, or because he's just an
overall troublemaker who likes being bad for the hell of it.
ANYWAY
I was listening to one of his stellar tracks ("Bumping Me
Against The Wall") and realized that some of the lyrics seemed
to directly address his current situation:
"You heard about me, yeah you had to
Hmm - huh, I know you changed ya mind
It could be you time and it might be"
Many Mystikal fans can't stand to listen to "Shake Ya Ass"
or his other sexually aggressive songs in light of his
conviction.
Still, Mystikal insists, don't condescend; one wrong choice and
it could happen to you.
"You can't do nothing about it, its God will thats just how life be
One day it hit 'cha then its gone
And I'm serious and you ain't never even gone feel it until it hit
home That's when the pain run sharper and deeper
that's when the days feel slow and long"
Pretty self-explanatory; Mystikal describes his difficult
prison experience.
"Try to pick the pieces up and find a way to drive on
I tell you the truth so don't lie to me"
Mystikal ultimately confessed to his crime and asked for
forgiveness; why do you hypocrites insist on your own
perfection?
"Get back Satan don't bother me
And that's the way its gotta be
And real as ever so I hope you proud of me"
Finally, Mystikal berates Satan for inspiring him in his
maniacal criminal acts; but prays for a future time when
his fanbase can once again stand tall and be proud

you can read "Bouncin' Back (Bumpin' Me Against The Wall)" any way you want to, but it's about September 11th.
as for what he just went to jail for, from what I've read, he'd accused the woman he raped of stealing money from him, and that it was his way of exacting revenge, so I gather it wasn't just some random compulsive sexual act.

it wasn't exactly rape, but more like sexual extortion as i recall (i.e. he said he wouldn't press charges if she'd etc.etc.)

It was random, and it was compulsive. And it was rape; the videotapes show a definite element of physical intimidation.

squirrel everyone can see you're still logged in.
and yes mystikal is a bad bad man and this is an ugly awful criminal thing to do.
i still haven't seen a story which convinces me it was rape tho.

Sterling! Geesh... In case you need more convincing, from random rape crisis center website that seems to have a fairly good definition:
Sexual Assault Changes Lives
Sexual assault is any unwanted sexual contact, whether physical, verbal or non-verbal. All forms of sexual assault are violating and traumatic. Sexual assault is an act of aggression designed to humiliate, instill fear and dominate. As women, we live with the constant fear of sexual assault. That fear limits our activities and discourages our independence.

yes of course it was sexual assault and it was violating and traumatic. it wasn't rape tho as far as i know -- there was a mutually agreed upon quid pro quo going on between the two of them. as far as i know she did steal large sums of money and he told her that if he and his buddy could etc. then he wouldn't press charges. sexual extortion, assault, blackmail yesyesyes.
i'm just for some terminological preciseness here.
