Mindflayer "Its Always 1999" CD (March 2004)

"Its Always 1999" was the first Mindflayer full length, originally a CDR on Thunder Records, it rules.

I saw some stuff from the PaperRad DVD a while back including a new Lightning Bolt live video + animation segment; it was full of eye rotting psych. colors! Yay.

Yaaaaaaay!

My copy is not a CDR, and it was on Ooo Mau Mau recs.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:12 (twenty-two years ago)

also, if anyone wants Mindflayer/Lightning Bolt live tapes let me know. or a copy of the Ape Shit tape, which is 90 minutes of groovey smash n bash from mindflayer.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you sure its not CDR?

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

ian's right. mine is a CD on the same label.

jack cole (jackcole), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:27 (twenty-two years ago)

mine has printing on the CD and a silver bottom, dork.

there was a mindflayer cdr on thunder that was live stuff. the live stuff that can be found on the webpage, i believe.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i got a bunch of la machine cdrs from armageddon and those are pretty great -- gritty, dirty and loopy shamble dance magic.

jack cole (jackcole), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:29 (twenty-two years ago)

jack - are you a providence dude? the only lamachine disc i got from armageddon was 'phases & repetitions' which AWESOME fucking music.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:33 (twenty-two years ago)

nah, im not a providence guy -- but im a huge 6FS fan and like what a lot of the Fort Thunder folks do -- probably one of the finest scenes in recent memory. check out the armegeddonshop.com site. they have four La Machine discs available right now and I highly recommend it if you like that sort of stuff like i do. all of its pretty damn great and i just sort of stumbled on it when i was checking out the site for m. brinkman stuff.

jack cole (jackcole), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah.. next time i'm back there (spring break? maybe?) I'm probably going to splurge on lots of goodness. if yr looking for any brinkman stuff and could settle for mp3s/tapes/cdrs, let me know. i've got a bunch of his recent self-releases. e-mail me. and a PPP live set, which is fantastic (brinkman, pleasurehorse + prurient).

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:43 (twenty-two years ago)

that would be cool. i could trade ya the la machine cd-r i got that armageddon doesnt have.

jack cole (jackcole), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

My fucking 1999.99999 is a silver disk, no printing.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 1 February 2004 01:47 (twenty-two years ago)

This is not the lame jewel case reissue on Load Records! You are bidding on an extremely rare copy of Mindflayer's first album, It's Always 1999. This is the original issue on Ooo Mau Mau Records in 2001, and comes in a beautiful hand-screened paper jacket, with a photocopied insert. Mindflayer, if you've read this far and don't know, is a Providence side-project involving 1/2 of Lightning Bolt and 1/2 of Forcefield. This CD slays universes. Below, you'll see a scan of the cover -- if you have any further questions regarding this item, please feel free to email me at REDACTED@DEDACTED
