This is the ATP2004 Wk2 FAP thread

...for the simple reason that the Taking sides: UK ATP04 1 Vs. 2 thread isn't actually meant to be for FAPs, and in any case I'm fed up with it taking so long to load.

I am now prepared to be the only person to contribute to this thread :-(

Too many acronyms, son. Too many acronyms.

39 Steps + 40 Winks (39 Steps + 40 Winks), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

oh ffs hhcib?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmm. maybe you're right after all, 39s&40w. Can a mod please maybe un-acronymify the title a bit? Otherwise it'll become clear that I really do have nobody to play with this weekend...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

bump.

i can't be the only bloody person going surely?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna keep bumping this til someone humours me.

Loneliest thread evah...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 1 April 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Will be wearing a faded black Rocky Horror Picture Show t-shirt and jeans.

Come and say hi.

Jim Robinson (Original Miscreant), Thursday, 1 April 2004 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

hello.

i'll be there. just finished packing. I'll be wearing a blue autobahn kraftwerk t-shirt, probably drooling at steven malkmus.

jellybean (jellybean), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there: wearing a black shirt and a camoflauge doo-rag (at least for tomorrow).

Oddly, I'm not excited yet, nor have done any packing.

Nik (Nik), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no idea what a doo-rag is.

I'm not really excited at all either, principally cos in my head, I'm a festival ahead of myself due to the whole exilharating "Waiting For Glastod" experience.

But I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I get there (tomorrow morning), oh yes!

I'll probably be wearing a yellow t-shirt with the words "fabulous fifth-grade finale" written on them, cos i'm a fucking indie casualty.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 2 April 2004 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm v. jealous of you all so the least you can do is pretend to be excited, hmmm?

zappi (joni), Friday, 2 April 2004 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

well i was really excited about seeing arthur lee, but now i'm going to see him tonight so...hmmm.

er, yay! and stuff.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 2 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

4/10

must try harder!

zappi (joni), Friday, 2 April 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

should the ATP UK 2004 Weekend 2'ers use this same thread to discuss their weekend?

i'm still trying to sort myself out, but initial thoughts are:

- was cat power freaked out / freaky, or what?
- ESG gig was legendary shit..unbelivable

Nik (Nik), Monday, 5 April 2004 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

What a weekend! I haven't slept since yesterday morning, and have just loaded up all my photos onto my computer. they'll be uploaded to somewhere on the interweb tomorrow, once I've had some sleep.

Highlights
-Sonic Youth/Lightning Bolt on saturday night. I expected SY to be crap, they were amazing, and Lighting Bolt managing to get everyone to sit down was excellent.
-The Shins - they were my highlight until Sat night
-Fuck - That end of their set was perfect festival type thing to do
-Polmo Plopo were my favourite random new finds of the weekend
-Chatting to Vincent Gallo's drummer at 4am this morning
-the random pot and pans banging after the security people told everyone to shut up and go back to their chalet this morning

We were trying to work out if Vincent Gallo was some kind of genius or really up himself. The fact that his band were named after him, and he didn't contribute much, except by wearing a shiny purple outfit, while john and josh did everything.

i don't want to be back in the real world

jellybean (jellybean), Monday, 5 April 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and some drunken bloke asking me if I was a member of Erase Errata. Four girls standing together at ATP does not mean we're members of Erase Errata.
