I've yet to actually hear it but I think I want it to be the best song ever.

Al (sitcom), Friday, 9 April 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

is twista reprising the role of that cheb mani (sp?) guy?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 9 April 2004 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

pop music is confusing these days

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 9 April 2004 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I assume this is not a version o' the Beth Orton song

I think the correct answer is "shock".

Who do I have to kill to hear this? (Man, just looking for an excuse to kill people these days....)

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Friday, 9 April 2004 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I got it off iTunes. I like it fine, even if Sting does little more than sing the hook.

ILX is so slow today that I can actually use the search functioning (and revive old threads that no one is around to respond to).

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 9 April 2004 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

(function, that is)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 9 April 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I seriously had this thread open for like 5 minutes just staring with my mouth agape.

Sting is barely even recognizable harmonizing with a female singer, which kind of minimizes the shock value of the collabo, but it's pretty good nonetheless. Twista is on a shit hot remix streak lately, with "Neva Eva", "Rubber Band Man", "Jook Gal", the Collipark remix of "Slow Jamz" and now this.

Al (sitcom), Friday, 9 April 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought this was gonna be a bunk mashup

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 9 April 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Sting lowers himself once again to work with a much lesser talent, in hopes of branching out to a younger audience. Why he allows these missteps to happen, one will never know....

bahtology runs amok, Friday, 9 April 2004 22:35 (twenty-two years ago)

haha collipark rmx does not make for shithot dude

prima fassy (mwah), Friday, 9 April 2004 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)

shut up, I love that remix.

Al (sitcom), Saturday, 10 April 2004 04:22 (twenty-two years ago)

ah no.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 10 April 2004 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)

it's kind of backward, this is more or less a twista song with sting hidden on the hook. of course all this means is that it's now fully the reverse of the early 90s where every bad pop song had the "rapper in the middle" breakdown with a terrible rapper manning the lane; now it's good rappers with terrible pop singers clogging up the center.

rgeary (rgeary), Saturday, 10 April 2004 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a guinness book of records/tantra joke here too but i can't be bothered to find it. sorry.

rgeary (rgeary), Saturday, 10 April 2004 05:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i saw the video this morning! twista is in some kind of a closet and rapping and then drives to the club where sting is. they're both dancing with girls there. they get in twista's car at the end and drive away. it's sort of okay.
