Starting to hate your own creation?

If you (have ever) play(ed) an instrument and have written anything, does (did) that ever get stuck in you head? This is happening to me. It's becomeing very annoying. Sometimes, even the parts where I messed up while I was practicing get stuck in my head. Is it common for your own songs to get stuck in your head and sometimes even get more annoying than the songs by the bands you hate?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, ilx.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Aja - try perfroming them in front of an audience, laboring over them for WEEKS in a studio, and trying to 'explain' them to band memebrs who'd rather be high and watching The Swan.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Saturday, 10 April 2004 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i find it nearly impossible to listen to anything I've been a part of recording/writing/performing....it's hard to not just hear all the mistakes and things that I argued to be different during recording...

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Saturday, 10 April 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Aja - try perfroming them in front of an audience, laboring over them for WEEKS in a studio, and trying to 'explain' them to band memebrs who'd rather be high and watching The Swan.

The only audience I have is my mom. I labor over what I've written for weeks, maybe months. I have no band mates to explain them to. Funny you mention the Swan. When it was on, I was listening to a special on the radio (on Kurt Cobain, of course) and trying to perfect a riff I wrote that day.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait Aja, are you saying you play the guitar?! It's a good thing you've finally told somebody on this board.

David Allen (David Allen), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I play guitar. I've already told a few people I do and I've mentioned my guitar a few times.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

i love the swan

dan bunnybrain (dan bunnybrain), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

But they look like girls who had plastic surgery. The point of having it is to look good, not, uh, cut up and streched out.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

"a few times"

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

"a few times"

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Now who are you Lil' Fancy Kpnats (The K is Silent)

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Now imagine how God feels.

Rockist Scientist, Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but at least my creations don't start hating me. Yet, I don't have children.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait? Aja plays guitar!!?!?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes. Is it really that shocking?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Why haven't I heard this before?!

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:09 (twenty-two years ago)

???

You don't pay attention?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you like Kurt Cobain?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, and I play left handed too (not because of Kurt, just because I am left handed)

But, I like Geordie Walker more as a guitar player.

Yet, My guitar playing is more like, as if, someone with Kurt's depression and Dave Grohl's playing ability. I'm more of a rythem guitarist

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you depressed?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i am!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

No. My music just sounds depressing. It's creepy. Maybe even more depressing than Nirvana.

I'm not even trying to be depressing!!!!!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

were you beaten as a child?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Aja, will you be in my band?

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

she was forced to listen to too much mission of burma music. that would depress anyone.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Good! Seven is way too young to be depressed!

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Mission of Burma is so fucking overrated!

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

What's 'The Swan?'

57 7th (calstars), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

were you beaten as a child?

No.

Aja, will you be in my band?

What state, or country do you live in and what kind of music?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a jagstang?!!??!?!

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

No. Hahaha!!

I wanted a Mustang (and that has nothing to do with Kurt. I wanted a Mustang wayyyy before I even knew about Nirvana)but I got a Stratocaster.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha!!

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, I didn't get to pick. I got it for my Birthday. I did get the body the color I wanted though.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

nothing in the world wrong with a Strat

roger adultery (roger adultery), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

No, not at all. I love that guitar! I got a new amp yesterday and that just makes it seem even more wonderful. Of course, it's a Fender amp. I really like Fender.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:12 (twenty-two years ago)

So, you write songs and stuff?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Sort of. I mean, I just started playing and writing.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

What're your lyrics like?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Umm, depends. I haven't writen lyrics in a while. The last lyrics I wrote, which was actually pretty recent, were a bit on the Jaz Coleman side of things.

HAHAHAHA!! I couldn't believe it!!

I don't want to write about a disfunctional relationship. I tried to do that, and it sounded like everything else out there. I had to thow that crap away!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Got anything about kickball?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

No. I've got one about a neat freak though.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that you?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:51 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I was thinking about my mom beacause she kept asking me to clean stuff up. I didn't do a good enough job according to her standards.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

That's like that one Nirvana song.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Which one?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Dumb.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

No. Hahaha! Isn't that about a concusion?

I'm not too sure what my songs'll sound like when I'm finally and completely done with them. I'll write an instrumental, and I'll write lyrics. I just haven't put the lyrics with the instrumentals yet. I don't know which goes with which yet. Remember, I just started doing this.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I meant this thread, sorry.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 20:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't really spell out the sound I'm making while reading this thread, but it's something like "tork tork! tork tork!"

Hey I'm 13 and my name is Aja! I'm 2 in one.

That's the answer!!

(mean while, Butthole Sufers song is playing in the backround and I have just gotten one of my riffs stuck in my head!!!!)

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

How did you get it stuck in you head?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

She ripped it off from the Butthole Surfers song

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it becomeing (very) annoying?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

read it.

"I have gotten one of my riffs stuck in my head"

I've gotten "my music" stuck in my head, not "me"

She ripped it off from the Butthole Surfers song

I didn't rip anything off of the Butthole Suffers. I don't even know how to.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha!!

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 10 April 2004 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I thank the lord above for I didn't create ILX.

Aja: Yes. This is why musicians are said to SUFFER for their (f)art's sake.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Saturday, 10 April 2004 22:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I can not spell. Sorry. hey, It's a bit like Kurt. He spelled Fugazi like Fuhgawz on his shoes.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 10 April 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

But, I like Geordie Walker more as a guitar player.

Do please leave me out of this, won't you? Ta very much!

Now, where did I put me drink?

Cheers,

Geordie K. Walker (vassifer), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Geordie, what's with the pick guard? I don't remember you using a pick guard. Hey, it's covering part of the f hole. You're messing up the sound! Plus, it dosen't look too nice.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 11 April 2004 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

and the huge light reflecting sphere sitting atop your neck doesn't help none either.

dyson (dyson), Sunday, 11 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't make fun of Geordie. You should have seen him when he was young. I've only seen pictures, but it looked like he had a lot of hair!

Aja (aja), Sunday, 11 April 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Geordie ruleth! hair or no

Paul (scifisoul), Sunday, 11 April 2004 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Geordie should be a "god" of guitar players.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 11 April 2004 15:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i meant aja, sorry.

dyson (dyson), Sunday, 11 April 2004 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

How would you know if I was bald? You've never seen me. If you did you'd tell me I need to straighten out my hair. All my friends tell me that. I've got thick hair that looks even thicker because it's, what they call, puffy.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 11 April 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Hello.

dean!, I thought I told you to go away!

Who are you??
I'm Xii! Hi!!!

-- Xii (chri...)

Yeah, ok. Hi.

Why do people always have to say hi to me??

Aja (aja), Monday, 12 April 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do people always have to say hi to me??

As opposed to what? "Go Eat Dung"? o

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 12 April 2004 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Something to do with boredom and lack of empathy I think. Dunno. Time collapse fucked with perception...

Jacob (Jacob), Monday, 12 April 2004 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex.

Hi. Nice to read you're writing.

I mean, in the sense that when I ask a question, instead of answering it, usually the first person to say hi is Eisbar, and then other people just say hi to me.

What's the point. Some people I've seen them post many times before; others, never even seen one post by.

Aja (aja), Monday, 12 April 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi Aja! I am going out for lunchies w/ fancy dwinks now! Bye!

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Monday, 12 April 2004 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Bye.

But I didn't get to talk to you!

Wait! Shouldn't you be in school?

Aja (aja), Monday, 12 April 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I am in school. SHOULDN'T YOU BE IN SCHOOL?

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Monday, 12 April 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

No! I'm still in a grade where we get Easter vacation! Plus, it is a Catholic school, so they have to celebrate it!!

Ohh...I wish I could play my guitar now, but my mom's asleep. Awful! Why isn't all that construction waking her up?

Aja (aja), Monday, 12 April 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Good morning ASIA!?
