do you people even REMEMBER his old albums? because if you rave about this new exercise in laziness, im starting to think you never listened to his old work properly. either that or youre such a blinded fan, youll accept anything (and in prince world, there are lots of followers like that).

You are moving out of the realm of discussing the album and into the realm of gratuitously insulting people who disagree with you without making any reference to the album. (I said nothing on the other thread because I started things by calling you stupid.)

I think Prince brings out a lot of tricks he pulled in the 80s on this album - the Linn Drum snare sounds, the tight one-man five-part harmonies, the relatively straightforward song structures. And I like it, it's fun - it's definitely the best thing he's done in years. But it is definitely not on a par w/Lovesexy or Sign o' the Times or Purple Rain or anything like that. It's too backward-looking to achieve that kind of "wow" reaction from me. It's more like an old friend patting me on the back and saying "hey, remember me? I still know how to write songs..."

hold on, i didnt insult anyone. the lead post i made was not directed at anyone in particular, just people in general who praise the album. and the reply to pablo wasnt to do with the music/album because pablos initial post in this thread wasnt either. well done by calling me stupid. good job there.
