You have a choice: A modest proposal for a new theme.

Okay, this is kinda silly, but I wanted to try.

You are presented with two songs.

One of them, you will not hear again... and will never HAVE heard. It will be permanently erased from your memory a'la EVERLASTING SUNSHINE. Any memories you have previously associated with this song are likewise eradicated.

You will never hear this song again; any time it plays, the music will be replaced with dead space. Same holds true for any remixes, songs that extensively sample the erased song, mashups, etc.

"Neither" or "Both" is not an option.

You must choose to keep one, get rid of the other.

Choose:

Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" or Lil' Jon's "Get Low"

"Don't Stop Believing" - but I should point out I've never heard the song in the first place.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Easy. Keep "Get low" ditch Journey.

Is this like fuck, marry or push off a cliff?

You could have three songs - one you hear every day for the rest of your life, one you get to hear live, once, and one you never hear again...

Jacob (Jacob), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 01:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Not exactly Jacob. The catch is that although you may HATE the Journey track, you're losing all the associations and memories that go along with it. So if you felt up your first girlfriend to the tune of "some will win/some will lose/some were born to sing the blues", you have to boot that as well.
In short, you'd lose all memories involving roller skates.

I don't even know the journey track. But lil jon makes life worth living.

This may be one of the hardest questions I've had to answerew

You don't know that Journey song? Where have you been for the last twenty fucking years? MORON!

Lil' Fancy Kpants (The K is Silent) (ex machina), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean it's hard in that both songs represent pinicles in humanity

C0L1N B3CK3TT (Colin Beckett), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 02:08 (twenty-two years ago)

pinnAcle

Wher have I been? Not living in America - and for all I know I've heard it before, just didn't know what it was called. I'll survive, you'll survive.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 02:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy to dropload you a copy Jedmond.
and c0l1n, these aren't meant to be "great" songs necessarily, just value checks.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

but they ARE great!! two of the finest songs of their respective eras.. my mind is reeling at the thought...

Sonny A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 03:32 (twenty-two years ago)

As if the song itself wasnn't bad enough, erasing that Journey song would mean forgetting Monster, right? Definitely that!

Josh Timmermann (Josh Timmermann), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 03:44 (twenty-two years ago)

My first instinct was to get rid of "Get Low," since I like "Don't Stop Believin'" better -- but then I thought "Get Low" has probably occupied more of my mental space and is currently more relevant and so it seems weirder to get rid of it. FWIW, I'm not sure I heard "Don't Stop Believin'" until I saw Monster, but afterwards, I downloaded it right away. No other associations, though.

Yeah, I wasn't be even slightly sarcastic. I love both of those songs.

C0L1N B3CK3TT (Colin Beckett), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 03:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I will never stop believing. Erase the Littlejohn. It could easily be replaced by any of his other songs. MY BALLS! WHAT!

dan'l von template, Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

This is impossible since both songs are connected to great memories with very good friends. But I would ditch Get Low in a pinch.

Sean Witzman (trip maker), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Since "Don't Stop Believing" makes me feel like my testicles are shrinking, I'm gonna get wipe that one clean.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 15 April 2004 18:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Too many great times thia past year with Get Low playing in the background. Journey would get booted even if I didn't like the Lil Jon song a million billion times better anyways.

Maciej, Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Haven't heard either of them, and I think I probably wouldn't want to.

Sasha (sgh), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

OH YES YOU WOULD
