It's more than just the cleanup costs, the sponsors aren't jumping into it because attendance has plummeted the last few years (1.5 million in 1999, only a third of that last year).
They say it's cancelled just for this year, but it seems more than likely that this will be a permanent cancellation. I wish I could have gone. Any first-hand experiences from ILM-land?
Berlin is still cool. The music shops kick ass and there's awesome techno parties every week.
