Anyone remember the UK children's school show that had a character called Wordy who would introduce classic stories such as "Badger Girl" and "Dark Towers"? They had a bit on how to spell - how you can add the letter "e" to the end of a word like "hat" and it made "hate"?
They called it the magic e, and magic e had a theme tune - can any of you web boffins find a wav or mp3 copy of that song? I have a rave classic in the making.

i don't want to recommend such, uh, *vivid* sampling of kids TV (the easiest place in the world to mine for real/imagined drugs references) but i'm pretty sure it was Words and Pictures... I notice Tom Leherer avoided such plundering by calling his track for Electric Circus(?) 'Silent E'...

(it may be of no interest to know that my Local mass-transist system promised SUNDAY SERVICE ON GOOD FRIDAY AND E-MONDAY)

Can I just say what a tribute it is to the World Wide Web that this was found so quickly?

The world is a lovely place in spite all the evil, it is true.

My friend Brendan actually made a rave track on his Amiga using the magic E sample that he SWEARS pre-dated Sesame's Treet / Charlie Says etc... If only he'd released it he could be dating an Appleton sister!
