New Young Gunz single, their best one yet. Really obvious old school homage but some fuckin' thunderous Just Blaze production. This'll rip up clubs like whut.

I don't follow.

It just sounds like they're trying too hard for the old school aesthetic or something. It doesn't kill me.

it's not terrible. when it comes up after no better love i always just skip one forward to rich girls.

You guys have obviously not heard this song on the dance floor.

WAY better than Rich Girls, which is wonderful for like 3 listens and boring ever after.

"Rich Girls" is like one of the only songs I like on the album. That song knocks, very, very well. And sure, I've heard "Friday Night" in a club setting, but it doesn't really change my opinion of it. I'm really only waiting for them to play "Hot Boy Ronald" anyway.

friday nite may well bang in the club, thats a pretty untouchable argument tho really! but ti seems a bit of a oldskool corpse, so heavy, whereas ahhh 'cant stop won't stop' wowow took those old nods and made something young fresh and careless, there's no reverence there, no inclusive collective nostalgia just "young chris and neef we running this rap shit"

prima fassy (mwah), Friday, 16 April 2004 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

and it's sort of cool cos everyone thinks they can dance to it! they see the electro house but there's no doorknob, they start to feel a bit queasy after a while.

prima fassy (mwah), Friday, 16 April 2004 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

correct me if I'm wrong but i believe that "can't stop won't stop" is an old school homage as well.

djdee2005, Friday, 16 April 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

"can't stop won't stop" is a straight beatjack of the philly crew classic, Cool C's "Juice Crew Diss" - i think of it more as a Philly past/present homage.
