dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

He likes me.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

He thinks the atmosphere's strange.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

He doesn't really like me!

coco rammstein, Friday, 16 April 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

He wants to give me thirty dollars.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 16 April 2004 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

He wants to send me some records.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey wait a minute, is his daughter named charlotte or zoe? Was Ned lying, surely not!

coco rammstein, Friday, 16 April 2004 00:21 (twenty-two years ago)

It's Jazmine.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Good of you all to speak for him .. but I was really hoping Alex would rate the lot of ILM himself. (All in separate posts, man. no shortcuts.)

Was Alex the first Alex to be in somewhere? (.. did SF & mainhattan appropriate his moniker?)

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I stole mine from all the other Alexes.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:26 (twenty-two years ago)

When Alex unveiled the moniker, not long after his arrival.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:27 (twenty-two years ago)

(It must also be said in fairness that Alex and Nicole have long since put the spat behind them, though their thoughts on the respective bands have surely changed not a jot.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

So ALex in NYC was just alex before? And a KJ thread made it happen.

Cacaman Flores, Friday, 16 April 2004 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I think there were other Alexes actually.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, the KJ thread itself is what brought Alex in NYC here in the first place, and shortly after he arrived, the 'in NYC' part appeared. Prompted by someone else's similar use, I can't remember.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

::sigh::::

I was Alex in NYC before coming to ILX. Way back in the dark ages, there was another Alex on either the Firewatercircus ( http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/firewatercircus/ ) or the Gathering ( http://www.misera.net/gathering/ )...honestly, I forget which...and I added the in NYC to avoid confusion.i

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 16 April 2004 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm an Alex too. Bet ya didn't know that one! Bet ya don't care either.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 16 April 2004 02:17 (twenty-two years ago)

All Alexes are appreciated to no lesser degree than Toms, Dicks or Harrys.

jim wentworth (wench), Friday, 16 April 2004 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I ain't no harry dick.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 16 April 2004 02:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Is ILM an Alex magnet? Do Alexes (plural) by nature love music?

hector (hector), Friday, 16 April 2004 03:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 16 April 2004 03:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Incidentally, I'm generally pretty wary of these types of threads, as I don't want inadvertently offend someone by failing to cite them as being superfabulous or something. I mean, I have no problems with advertently offending someone for a specific reason....like for extolling the merits of Good Charlotte or Avril Lavigne or Usher or some crap like that (and, incidentally, they all suck, and you suck for likin'em), but in terms of what I think of everyone, I'm pretty fine with everyone...even the cranky rock-deprived jazzbos and fire-dishonoring r'n'b fans.l

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 16 April 2004 05:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(new keyboard time I fear Alex)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 16 April 2004 07:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, Usher lets it burn! If that's not honouring the fire, I don't know what is (which I'm sure you'd agree with).

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 16 April 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, I'm kinda proud that I'm not an Alex from anywhere in particular. (Though I'd probably put 'in DC' even though I'm not really.)

Alex Pittman (Alex Pittman), Friday, 16 April 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The in NYC was never intended to spawn a cult or trend, Alex.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 16 April 2004 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

anthony is the biggest fire-dishonourer in these parts.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 17 April 2004 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Miccio, I assume you mean.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 April 2004 15:41 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah.

it should also be noted that alex in nyc also posted under his "motel hell" moniker in that classic KJ thread.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 17 April 2004 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Good Charlotte and Avril, but I also like Iron Maiden and Devo. Where does that leave me?

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 17 April 2004 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

motel hell was alex?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Saturday, 17 April 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I are a biter

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Saturday, 17 April 2004 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

(there's other Nates here though so I do have my reasons)

Anyways, I'm sure if Alex knew the full extent of my musical tastes he'd consider me the single worst person on ILM, but it would be a badge I'd wear with honor.

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Saturday, 17 April 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, i was Motel Hell for a little while. Sor've a pointless escapade in retrospect, but hey...I was still new.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 17 April 2004 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i wonder what alex thinks of the mover presents frontal sickness - illuminated. i can only hope he likes it

but then, today, in a particuarly english moment, perhaps brought on by thoughts of van der graaf generator, i thought the same about dillinja - the angels fell
