I had someone get into a Brad Mehldau CD that I was playing, so I suggested they listen to Naked City. They didn't like it.

When I went to my dad's work, I listened to the Foo Fighters, I was going to see them in concert that day, and nobody cared.

used to be a janitor at a church and was blasting faith no more over the church PA while i was doing some crap in the main sanctuary.

surprisingly, the minister came in and admitted he liked some particular song.

i thought i was alone in the building.

i suppose it could've been deicide...

we used to play hardcore at a construction job i worked... "hey, you guys listen to some bitchin metal man!"

I've been playing Soul Position 8 Million Stories Instrumental version, and it seems to be a hit with the cubemate.

I feel I should also point out that the members of Kraftwerk and your middle aged office mates are probably about the same age.

incrediblyhipnick, Friday, 16 April 2004 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

we've got a little iTunes network set up here, so many people listen to many other peoples' music.

which doesn't really bother me---i couldn't survive work without headphones, quite honestly.

Everybody at work used to moan when I played them Merzbow.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Friday, 16 April 2004 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

At my old job I would play Gate or Harry Pussy when I wanted people to leave me alone- 100% effective.

I got my fifties dyke coworker into eminem four years ago.

my office mate always comes in demanding that i listent to some new shit posted on fluxblog or something... sometimes its good, though, so i don't mind... the other day the usual course of event unfolded and i went to fluxblog and it was full of hardcore porn... i wasn't impressed because half of the interenet is just hardcore porn...

of course the part about the porn was just a dream ... i'm still searching for the meaning in a freudian sense... something about music piracy i'm sure...

I'm not sure why, but I find this quite hilarious.

Of course, that's a compliment ... just picturing the scene right now ... funniest thing I've read all day ...

Billy instructs me to bring loads of dub, postrock and electronica in. I don't mind obliging.
