can you tell me something about Donkey? picked up 'Pump in the Yard, Dump in the Bucket' and 'I Aint Yer House-Nigger' based solely on, well, i'm not even sure why. i'm hearing a weird mix of Sonic Youth, Spacemen 3 and Loop, Terminal Cheesecake, maybe Th' Faith Healers or early Stereolab, a touch of Madchester. pretty cool. couldn't find much information about 'em online. who are (were?) they, and what are they doing now?

Can't tell you much, or at least not much that's any help, but:
The last Guided Missile Records news update said they were playing the GM 10th anniversary gig under the name Bent Moustache. I have no idea whether this actually happened, whether the name change is permanent, or whether they're actually still together or just reformed for the anniversary thing. Google doesn't seem to either.
I have the album "Stroke My Wings Gently" but I believe (could be wrong) that it's a different version of "Pump In The Yard" with no tracks that aren't on your version, so not really worth buying since you have the latter.
Don't buy either of these by mistake, it's a different Donkey. Yeah, I already made that mistake thanks to Reckless not letting you see anything except the front of the inlay card before buying and not thinking to check even though I hadn't heard of the title before.
Oh, and since you mention Th'Faith Healers and Stereolab I think at one point Joe Dilworth drummed for them very briefly, but they were somewhat notorious for changing drummers often. (The two founder members were Dutch but the other half of the band was from the UK, or at least it was by the time I started paying attention.)
As far as more info goes, I have no idea, but you could email Guided Missile or ask on their messageboard. Or the place I first heard about Donkey from was the newsgroup uk.music.alternative, and one of the people who liked them (and I think knew some of the members) still seems to post, so maybe someone could help you there.

I forgot to say that if you learn any more (especially what they're up to now) I'd be interested to find out too. Could you post anything you discover up here? Thanks.
Above post was somewhat garbled because I was and remain completely knackered, so apologies for that. I need a week off to recover from my week off.

two years pass...
yes indeed "Donkey" exist, but under the name THE BENT MOUSTACHE. We released a 7 inch single in January 2006 on our own Wormer Bros. label, and we will release a new single in the summer of 2006. We are playing shows again as well
