Australia is really behind so this post will be totally redundant, everyone here is still playing Boogie Pimps' "Somebody To Love" and Tube & Burger's "Straight Ahead" (the one with Chrissie Hynde, not that you'd really know it). And "Manila" still! (though it's a great track so who can blame them).
Oh yeah, and the deathless "My Time" by Dutch & Crystal Waters, which is probably my favourite house-pop track of the year - not quite an "At Night" or "Take Me With You" but on a similar euphoric tip.
What's nice to see from an Aussie perspective is non-Sean Paul dancehall making it onto our club charts (Elephant Man's "Jook Gal" at no. 41! Now release the bloody album fools!)

well, i went out with mr sherburne to check out ewan pearson at fabric on saturday. i realised how out of touch i am with big club tunes because i knew hardly anything he was playing. you'd have loved it btw, tim. ewan absolutely slammed it - never heard him play that tough, but every track had a real ebm, italo-disco feel to it, a couple of bits of schaffel etc, too.

Whoa Siegbran you've set slsk to overdrive there!
My top tip is "Rocker" by Alter Ego, could be this year's Satisfaction except I think it needs a cheesey robotic vocal! It's the only tune so far this year I've heard which I can guarantee will be really big. That's not to say I haven't heard good records, I just haven't heard many big banger type tunes yet.
I find that "My Time" track a bit too fluffy or something, it's not quite clever enough to be an "At Night", for me anyway.

i'm really not kidding - i knew about four tracks and i have NEVER heard him play like that... it was absolutely slamming. room 2 was techno (oxia the advent and marco corrolla), real tracky and looped and not very nice (i hate that shit, bores me stupid with the exception of oxia, who i quite like in small doses) but ewan was at least as tough as them, just a lot more textural, bumping and sexy, really. it actually made me laugh coz i've never heard him make such a racket before. btw, i'd love fabric to let me loose on a mix, but seeing as how i'm only listening to klezmer, hillbilly music and dancehall right now, it may fall a bit outside of their remit!
