during one of my high school spanish classes, our teacher, who was more of your younger, more happenin' sort of spanish teacher, as opposed to your more typical older, less happenin' sort of spanish teacher, would have us listen to a different spanish or mexican pop songs every day for a week while reading along with the lyrics that she'd printed out for us (singing along was encouraged but nobody really did). "cien gaviotas" by duncan dhu was one of those songs and man was it totally infectious! i believe this song may be classified as a "ditty"

oh yeah, there's a star cameo in the "cien gaviotas" video - that's kevin mcdonald on the two-piece. look at him go! i think their original drummer had the stomach flu or something during the shoot and since KITH was so popular at the time, kevin was just naturally the go-to guy
