Metal Sludge Thinks DUD!

Uh, Metal Sludge was founded a parody site of Metal Edge to start with, so this is not exactly news.

But it's funny and says more than i ever could.
p.s. I think Metal Sludge is pretty dud too.

as a young tweener reading metal mags of the 80s, I never really liked Metal Edge as much as Hit Parader or Circus or Rip....Metal Edge was more of a picture book. I used to buy an issue in September before school started because they had alot of pictures and centerfolds you could hang in your locker...

metal sludge is awesome (reminds me I dont' read it enough)

I think Metal Edge had its significant heyday in the mid-1990s, when still printing fan art from Poison and Faster Pussycat fans. The letters column at that time was unbelievable, and clocked about ten pages per issue. It was amazing as a glam rock time capsule, but also as a tracker for the mindset of aging blondes and other true believers. Then came VH-1 and stadium package tours, and however wrinkled and burned, the power ballad party has resumed. Metal Edge itself has moved on to the likes of Saliva, but I respect them most for running Trixter-related features in 1998!

It's strange how Metal Edge practically ignored grunge (apart from STP and Bush) and kept covering hair metal but then now cover nu-metal and industrial metal). I suppose those old bands fans had to go somewhere and Metal Edge knew they had a clear run at that audience. I wondered where that audience went to but Ian just explained above!

I always imagined Beavis & Butthead(And Stuart) would read Metal Edge.
