After causing mosh pits at countless hip-hop shows, Brooklyn’s own MOP is set to release a heavy metal album on May 25 through indie label, Fastlife/Blaze Records.

yeah I saw that...usually this would make me a little suspicious..but I'd have to say if there is a rap group in the world that is spiritually heavy metal...it's MOP...

I would have preferred M.O.P + the Soul Rebels Brass Band, but surely if anyone can make rap-rock not suck, it's them?

Uh, sorry, but that's a Survivor song, dude. Though I believe MOP do sample "Cold As Ice" in a different song. (And doesn't one of their songs have "House of the Rising Sun" in it, too?) Anyway, this album could be really good. Or it could be some inept Body Count/*Justice Night crap, who knows.
