Life, Sex & Death: Now is the time, now is the place, get inside your tank...

Seems to me that given the mess of the Iraq war, someone smart ought to dig up Life, Sex and Death and reissue "The Silent Majority." A video of a dude who looks like a homeless man singing "Overthrow, overthro-o-o-w" and "get inside your tank, you're a tank" would be a bracing cold shower.

So what happened to Stanley? LSD had a raft of press, much of it querulous because writers were offended by the idea of a heavy metal band sporting a singer who looked and played the part of a mentally ill bum. Good album, though, the man had a nice voice, a way with a piano tune and the not infrequent great lyric: "How many times did you recieve punishment but commit no cr-i-i-me!?!"

Metal Sludge has some answers...

What genuinely horrible photos! The interview was a lot like the old press on the band. The label and management got thrown by not presenting the only interesting person in LSD as anything more than a cardboard prop to which could be attributed an assortment of hideous anecdotes. From the CD of "Silent Majority," Stanley wrote a lot, was more eloquent than his bandmates and the people he was filtered or channeled through.
