A zillion times better than that boring Darkness album. Plus, male AND female vocals. And it rocks. And it's only 30 minutes long. And it has a better title:Mouthful Of Love.

And i can actually listen to the whole thing.

Yeah, they are kind of intriguing.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 18:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I've still never heard The Darkness.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 18:15 (twenty-two years ago)

You don't need to hear The Darkness. Believe me. They are lame.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 18:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Forget about the Darkness, tell me more about these folks. Website?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a 7" somewhere. "Tommy Shots" or something?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

oh no. oh please god no. they're probably the worst band that i ever willingly went to see. ned, they're on xl.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

XL can be both a warning sign and a bit of potential goodness depending.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw them live last year, but the only thing I can remember about them was that they had interesting hair. But at least that's better than the headliners for that gig. I don't remember a single thing about them at all.

jellybean (jellybean), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't care if they suck live. I'm not going to see them live, I'm gonna listen to the record and the record is really good. And I don't give a shit what label they are on either. Don't know if they have a website, i'll check.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Here's the Beggars page on them:

http://www.beggars.com/us/youngheartattack/

Sez one of their b-sides is an AC/DC cover they did with Lemmy.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

And they've toured with the darkness and motorhead.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the female singer is (or at least was at the end of last year), going out with justin hawkins.

she has a mullet.. i don't know if those two facts are related

jellybean (jellybean), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

She sounds like one of the singers in all-grrl 70's band Fanny.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:22 (twenty-two years ago)

PRODUCED BY CLIFF JONES OF GAY DAD!!!!

(i love the album, but prefer the single version of "mouthful of love")

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 22 April 2004 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

i reckon this deserved more of a reaction

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think anyone has heard the album.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i have! i bought it a couple of weeks ago.

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I mean besides you. And me. But when they do, I want them to come crawling back to this thread on their hands and knees and admit how lame the darkness are.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I admit I'm bemused about the Cliff Jones connection. But the drummer, now where is he again.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

off being an avatar to aheadness somewhere

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 23 April 2004 00:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I drift, serene.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I do remember Cliff Jones was going off about how brilliant they were in 2001, for some reason. There was even a Gay Dad bside called "Young Heart Attack".

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 23 April 2004 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I absolutely love this album, it's like Kix with a girl singer. "Starlight" is so unabashedly upbeat, it's unreal.

abegrand, Friday, 23 April 2004 04:35 (twenty-two years ago)

it's like Kix with a girl singer.

Chuck to thread!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 04:36 (twenty-two years ago)

five years pass...

only just discovered there's a second album, and it's good! less flashy than the debut but more consistent and more fun. i hope they have an imperial teen-esque type career..

private static void (electricsound), Thursday, 30 April 2009 00:36 (seventeen years ago)

Man, did I love that last album. Seems so long ago.

A. Begrand, Thursday, 30 April 2009 00:40 (seventeen years ago)

it seems like 400 lifetimes ago. i don't think i've even heard the album i started this thread about since i started this thread. that album disappeared without a trace. and, ew, i wrote about it for stinky magnet magazine. what was i thinking?

scott seward, Thursday, 30 April 2009 00:50 (seventeen years ago)

i listen to the debut every now and again, still like it a lot, though i probably listen to the last sixteen deluxe 45 more.

private static void (electricsound), Thursday, 30 April 2009 00:53 (seventeen years ago)
