Blissed Out Fatalists - did anyone like/notice these guys? (ca. 1987)

I stumbled across this record (Blissed Out Fatalists - self-titled - Motiv Records) at my college radio station (WHRW Binghamton) around 87 or 88 and loved it and played it all the time. It's really sloppy-noisy-throbbing rock - maybe a little like some of the tuneful recent boredoms stuff(?) and i eventually picked the LP up at a record fair. i had to rip some stuff from vinyl for a friend recently, so i digitized the whole BOF album for myself while i had things set up, and i'm just curious about them. The liner notes are almost nonexistent, they're not in AMG, no mention in either of the trouser press guides that i have, and the only mention on the web seem to be on "LPs for sale" pages/sites. Anyone know anything? Anyone remember them? Or are there just a million bands like this out there?

Well, you've got me intrigued. (CDR trade, perhaps?)

Wow. Time warp. I bought this from my high-school radio station when I was a junior, I believe. Everything was ten cents, on the last day, which is when I got it. (From that same sale I got the Pixies Come on Pilgrim, Throwing Muses Chains Changed and a bunch of other stuff that held my attention for years after.) I know I listened to it, but have no idea what it sounds like today. I eventually sold it (probably for more than I paid) to Reckless without even bothering to give it a spin. I totally remember the cover, all bright mustard-y, right?

I should say, without even bothering to give it a spin to see if I should have kept it.

oh yeah - mustard yellow cover, with big blocky lettering. i'll scan it for the trade with ned, and post the cover back here if i remember. (just to complete the circle.)

hmmm... i think i'm one of the few ILMers (well, i'm mostly an ILM-lurker) who doesn't use slsk - i don't have the patience or courage to do the 7 hour osx install... alas. i'll throw it on a server and i'll send you a link to mp3s if you want, though.

I bought this when it came out based on a review Gerard Cosloy wrote in Conflict (sounds like something LCD Soundsystem would say, I know). I still have it, though I haven't played it in about a dozen years. I remember it having a few outstanding tracks that sound like what the band name implies.

seventeen years pass...

Hope jon lyon has this thread bookmarked.

Checked for this on Spotify today for some reason and...it's pretty good! "Spiral" sounds like John McGeoch joined the Fall for a demo. "Don't Stand Far Away" and "Fatalator" like early Pavement singles played at ~40rpm?
