Don't forget the Ashley and Mary Kate cover of the Stone Roses song.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I apologize. That was all my wishful thinking. *sad face*

Obviously TLC kicks everybody else's arse and then leaves their dismembered corpses in a roadside rubbish bin.

Waddabout Paul McCartney's 'Waterfalls'?

de, Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, I subconsciously placed McCartney in the initial list. I've only just realised he isn't there.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

tlc. the stone roses one is great for two minutes, but then there's all that boring guitar soloing.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

TLC. None of the others come close.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Stone Roses!! The guitar solo on that song is phenomenal!! It's the "Stairway to Heaven" of the 1980s!!

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

It's the "Stairway to Heaven" of the 1980s!!

And that's a good thing?

noodle vague (noodle vague), Thursday, 22 April 2004 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Admittedly I thought of this when the Stone Roses reformation thread came up and I was commenting in chat that they are indeed awful (except for Mani) but that I'd make an exception for "Waterfall". And then thee Wendy & Lisa song came up on random play a couple days ago...

Waddabout Paul McCartney's 'Waterfalls'?

Don't know the song. But I have always maintained that McCartney can go stick his head in a pig.

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

It's not that good. (Surprise!)
I'm just being a stickler.

de, Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

McCartney's song (which eventually must have influenced the lyrics in the TLC tune) does of course win here. A great song from an otherwise crap album.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

W & L whoop ass, yo.

J (Jay), Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Pffft. I always skip Waterfalls when playing McCartney II, an otherwise excellent album. It is. It is so. Yes it bloody is. Oh shush.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and Andy Partridge wins by a country mile.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 22 April 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

tlc, easy.

dan (dan), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and lakes that you used to do...

Such an awkward metaphor, don't you think?µ

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

the bass in the stone roses one makes that song. mani is and will always be the best member of that group

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 22 April 2004 23:19 (twenty-two years ago)
