on one half-assed background listen, sounds just like the last few, which in my opinion is good.

Caetano Veloso does a DNA(Arto's no wave band) song on his new cd.

you're a liar. lie lie lie. sure, arto has produced 2 caetano records and they're friends, but i doubt that.

? a strange allegation. The album is "A Foreign Sound," it includes a cover of the DNA song "Detached."

Is anybody in Edinburgh planning to go to see Lindsay at the Triptych festival?

Claire (Claire Miccio), Friday, 23 April 2004 06:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I was very disappointed by the really bland 'Invoke', which never left the faintest taste, so I'll approach with caution.

Baaderoni (Fabfunk), Friday, 23 April 2004 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

oh god, i LOVE invoke. is this really out?

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 23 April 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i apoligize. indeed, it was a strange allegation. i am presently downloading "detached" on soulseek now. i few hours ago i finished downloading all of "salt," the new album. his lyrics are more sexually explicit in this album compared to the others, where the sexual metaphors were more oblique. he had been holding back. he's a dirty dirty man, and commitment-phobic to boot(am i out of line?).

i love the album and its textures. it's a shame he rarely tours the west coast.

has anybody heard it and/or translate the portuguese lyrics? what the hell, i should just buy the album in a few days and check out the lyrics then.

fuck, APOLOGIZE. typo/spelling error, excuse me.

Sounds good. I've liked all his solo stuff, altho "Invoke" was probably the weakest one, still had some great stuff on it, his post-Sept. 11 album. Always figured him for a dirty dirty man and commitment-phobic. But he makes some beautiful sounds. Been listening to his production work on Marisa Monte's "Rose and Charcoal," very nice.

god, what is wrong with all of you? Invoke is beautiful. he's totally updated his previously outdated electronic sounds. i forget what song it is now, but it's either Illuminated or Invoke, but he pulls out a Timbaland inspired r'n'b beat. so wonderful. i listened to Mundo Civilizado the other day, and it just seemed so old. the drum and bass sounded like ick ass LTJ Bukem. bleh.

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 7 May 2004 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

there's also a dope-ass DNA collection coming out (maybe it's already out?) called DNA on DNA (No Records)

dope-ass, i tell you. dope-ass

ken taylrr (ken taylrr), Friday, 7 May 2004 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

shit, just realized there already was a DNA thread going. sorry
