Is there such a job as one who selects the songs and music for movies if so what is their job title and how do you get into this particular field of music/movies???

It is called crony and you get to do this either by being "close" personal friends with the director or simply by sucking his dick repeatedly.

Actually there is such a position. "Music Consultant" or some such shit. I heard an interview with the guy who selected the Henry Mancini "Bossa Nova whatever it's called" thing to be used in Austin Powers. It was on NPR; "All Things Considered" I think. I'm too lazy to look it up. But it was a good interview.
