i absolutely refute the middle part of your clearing throat-tmesis, CharlieNo4 (the benefit of the doubt is Benelyn - far better for a cough). in all honesty, i heard them on the show and was curious, that's all.

The hemispheres of your brain are like the balls in Dubya's scrotum;
Belligerent dopes should never prevail, but even so, you vote'em
in,
people like you.
Your brain's like Bush's gonads -
As tragic as the hanging chads
That swung him the vote.
Your brain is the balls in Dubya's scrote.

I thought he'd died. Maybe it was Emu.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:02 (twenty years ago)

You've just reminded me why I don't like Jonathan Ross - that remark he made to Rod Hull at the British Comedy Awards about him being like some clock in New York 'cos "that hasn't worked since 1985 either." What a thoughtful thing to say to a bankrupt man who'd just lost his house and wife.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:11 (twenty years ago)

wossy himself was unemployed for the 90s, wasn't he?

I Am Rod Hull, Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:15 (twenty years ago)

For quite a lot of the '90s IIRC - Jonathan Ross' Fantastic Facts on primetime Saturday night ITV for about three weeks, anyone?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

hopefully johnny vaughn will give us all a decade's respite sometime soon.

Street team, indeed.

I might get told to fuck off again, but I've a new tip: the forthcoming Vic Twenty album, "Electrostalinist". A sample of his music can be heard here:

ohhhh Vic Twenty, gosh. I can't hear that at the moment, is he thoroughly instrumental now?

Alex in Sheffield (Alex in Doncaster), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:50 (twenty years ago)

I thought Vic 20 was Piney Gir and someone else, until Piney left?

Oh.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 09:59 (twenty years ago)

I thought that too. I would be more delighted by a Vic 20 album that had a lot of Piney on it. But I daresay he has something up his sleeeve in her absence. What was her album like?

Alex in Sheffield (Alex in Doncaster), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

my girlfriend has it - it's appalling
