On my phone I have Kraftwerk's "Trans Europe Express". For the first month I used it, I kept looking up to see what was playing cool music. It doesn't really sound exactly like the real song or anything, but it sounds better than any I've had in a long time.
My favorite still was a monophonic version of "Helter Skelter" that sounded like total crap. It was so bad it was great. But alas, I can't find it anywhere now that I have this fancy pants phone that came free with my newer service.
I also like picking really odd/bad ringtones so I never get caught in the "was that my phone or your phone or woman on the dairy aisle" thing.
I still have a problem paying $1 for a crappy ringtone. Think about all the people that pays, cell phone company, company that licenses the ring tone, person that composes the ring tone, record label, copyright holder, and maybe 0.5 cents go to the artist(s) that actually wrote the song.
