Hey, kate! Is this right? Geri Halliwell Named "Busted"?

I read in my local rag, news story about how Busted and Blue (good album title that) are playing the Madjeski Stadium in June, and that they were called "Buster" until Geri misread their name on the radio and said "Busted", and the boys thought that was better (which was true).

?

It seems highly unlikely but I have no idea, to be honest.

(had a quick skim on Google, it seems to have been reported as such, originally, in Heat magazine in 2002)
Here's a busted things you did not know page, all bad spelling and exclamations...!

Busted were originally going to be called Buster but Geri Halliwell read there name out wrong on a show. She called them Busted and the boys decided they liked the name better than Buster! (Suggested by Kate!)

I would just like to point out that that Kate is not me Kate.

I've never heard that rumour before. But, you know, I'm not anything like an expert on all things Busted! Sheesh! In fact, the less I know about the actual band, I think I'd prefer it that way!

Three great British institutions, but which were they named after?

Was the middle one meant to be Gonads?

What does a big red X have to do with Buster?

Hmmm, it shows up on my PC. It's popular 1970s comic book Buster, anyway.

Hey Kate, if you have to be told, you don't love them like you do..

I'm so confused right now.

Erm... my colleague just took the piss out of me for my desktop wallpaper. That's about the extent of my rabid fandom.
