incongruouse soundtrack tunes

In the film "the Jackal" Sidney Poitier is talking to Richard Gere in an empty prison cantene. In the background (like way in the background) you can definately hear the first track of Mc Conrad's Vocalist album. The work of a rogue researcher? Admittedly it isn't a good film but why the fuck put this tune in, it makes no sense. brilliant tune though. In the same film their is also a scene in a gay lounge in which Loud D+B fills the sound scape, rather than the more evocative house.
Any similar experiences?

I saw this french movie "Cold Water" several years back and in the climax party scene, they listen to CCR's "Going Up Around the Bend" like three times in a row, while dancing around bonfires. In the morning the female protagonist commits suicide by jumping in a river, leaving behind a blank suicide note.

Just saw a scene from a 1996 episode of "Law & Order," featuring a then-rare "peek into their personal lives," in which an adulterous Benjamin Bratt slow-dances in a living room with Jennifer Garner (evidently one of her first roles), to the Cowboy Junkies' version of "Sweet Jane."

What's that Phish song that goes "Bag it, Tag it"? (morrisp), Monday, 25 March 2019 05:35 (seven years ago)
