Charles and Eddie.

Charles & Eddie. Songs with "Hwhoooo!!" exclamations always win.

TS: "More Than Words" vs. a slow painful death.
I pick death.

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

how have we forgotten about China Black's 'Searching' in all this?
Extreme, rubbish band, great (if derivative) song!

"More Than Words" made possible one of the best Weird Al parodies (especially the video). But give me Charles & Eddie.

Hardest question I've ever seen asked on ILM!

Can't answer it. Both genius in their way, both karaoke classics, both elicit untold hate in the mildest of folks, both likely to be played at my funeral...gah.

Charles & Eddie are very effective for the clearing of pubs.

Charles and Eddie, for their excellent name.

Charles "Chuck" Eddy, Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

*rolls eyes*

Charles and Eddy rule, plus they've got the "tragic young death" backstory as well. Extreme are just a band that have influenced both Limp Bizkit and Westlife, which, as wide an achievement as that is, is also mad ghey.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Tragic what? What happened?

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 07:28 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah what happened?

i'm siding with charled and eddy on this one. extreme are dreadful. c&E always a pleasure...

excellently, on AMG: looking for someone more low key, calmer than Charles and Eddie - the obvious choice is.....

Sebadoh!

"Our condolences go to family, friends and fellow musicians of Charles Pettigrew, who died of cancer April 6. Back in February we told you that the Philadelphia native--best-known for his group Charles and Eddie and their hit "Would I Lie to You?" from 1992, and more recently for his vocals on the last Tom Tom Club album--was hospitalized here in Philly. His partner, Eddie Chacon, and family held the funeral last Sat., April 14, at the Greater Enon Baptist Church."
