Why is it that all the raw talented rappers from California are not being signed? People think that Cali is all about rappers like WC, knocturnal, and Snoop dogg. What about the Bay Area? Where's the Love?

I think Bill's right - as far as I know, the undie/backpacker scene in NoCal is so self-sustaining that you can make a living at it, so why enter the high-competition mainstream rap world?

i think the question is why enter the mainstream world when you're not wanting to be revealed as certainly more of a variant of modest mouse or something than you are of anything resembling real hip hop.
