hey neko --- the new prodigy album is finished!
we got 11 possibly 12 fist in the air traks .
it sounds sinister, electronic, trashy, sexy and fresh to my ears.
this album is about reminding people what the prodigy was always about---the beats and the music.
the vocals on this record are mostly used as an extension of the sound rather than the main focal point.
like jilted , keef and maxim were'nt involved musically and they are not on this album. ALL 3 of us will be together to do what we do and play this record live and rock it later in the year, we cant fukin wait!
you will probably begin to hear stuff early summer and the new album will hit in august. yeah -- more news to follow soon.

Liam Prodigy

The album release date has been confirmed for 16th August 2004.

I'm looking forward to hearing this new stuff. Good to be shot of that talentless dervish Flint too.

what do you mean? he's still singing on the album no?

i'm sure this album will be great considering it only took SEVEN YEARS and Liam has been over 30, married and exceedingly rich (translation: not so hungry) for some time now. cynical i know and no offence to the great man - i hope to be pleasantly surprised

Let's Just Hope It's Better Than That "Baby Got A Temper" Crapfest

Dude (The Yellow Dart), Saturday, 1 May 2004 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve - as far as I know its back to the "Jilted" format with no sign of Maxim or Keith vocals on the album.

Great news - Jilted is a super record IMO.

I heard Juliet Lewis sings on this record.

Yep.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 2 May 2004 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

It'll be far worse than 'To The Five Boroughs', I bet you.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Sunday, 2 May 2004 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

If it sounds like Experience then it'll be great. How Liam took the Prodigy from hand-in-the-air ravers, to every metallers token dance act is mystifying. And sucks.

At this point, I think someone needs to take their shit back underground to stop it from falling into the wrong hands.

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Sunday, 2 May 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

to make it sound like Experience would be foolish as you can't go back must move on. i'm not sure this album even needs to be made now, after all that wait. something that matches the range and general vibe of the Dirtchamber mix would be great tho perhaps.

xp Clarke B hahahhahahah

Elliot (Elliot), Sunday, 2 May 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Nore's contribution to this record is what keeps me interested.

It will be interesting to say the least. They have been going over 14 years (!) and only done three albums, two of which were some of the best ever made in any genre and one which was the worst ever made out of all the genres.

They milked Firestarter so much in 97 that the cow wrnkled up and died of exhaustion. One good song does not an album make. Let's hope it's calves don't come out all stillborn and gloopy.

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, _Fat Of The Land_ rather obviously has more than one good song on it!

"Diesel Power"
"Climbatize"
"Narayan"
"Smack My Bitch Up"
"Breathe"
"Mindfields"
"Firestarter"

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

errr... naryan?

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

"Narayan" is fantastic because among other things it makes Crispian Mills actually sound interesting, something which never occurred otherwise.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

doesn't save it from being a pile o sheeeet!

Problem was Fat of the Land seemed so samey and mid-paced. The other albums had so much more energy. The only one I can really bear is Climbatize simply because it doesn't have someone who can't sing recking it completely. Even Kool Keith couldn't save Diesel Power from being a tawdry yawn-along.

Do your speakers transmit bass?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I still really klike 'Serial Thrilla'. 'Funky Shit' is alright, if not quite what it could have been (ie a stone cold classic).

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

what would've made it better? the only con with that track is that it was debuted live in '95 so by the time the album came out may have seemed a little stale/dated

the thing i enjoy most about TFOTL is the SLICK production, but perhaps it's too slick and always lacked the sheer spirit of the first two albums - still kicks tho
