Talking Heads are going to play at this years WOMAD!
Source of rumour: my girlfriend catching a fleeting glimpse of an "Evening Post" poster out of the window of the car as we drove past and reading the words "Talking Heads to play WOMAD" but failing (presumably) to actually see / comprehend those crucial preceding words "David Byrne, ex...."
Extent of rumour: I can't imagine that anyone other than my girlfriend has ever been foolish enough to actually believe this; however she does contines to believe it regardless of every piece of evidence or logical reasoning (but the rest of the band are barely even on speaking terms with David Byrne!) that I've been able to present her with thus far.
Likelihood of rumour being true: look, if you want to argue with my girlfriend then.... good luck!

Look, keep this quiet OK, but Apples In Stereo, British Sea Power, Cafe Tacuba, John Cale, Caramel Jack, Nick Cave, Manu Chao, Chumbawamba, Clearlake, Clientele, Clinic, Coil, Ornette Coleman, The Coral, The Cure, The Damned, Bob Dylan, Electric Soft Parade, Erase Errata, Faust, The Fall, Fiery Furnaces, Flaming Lips, Fountains Of Wayne, Four Tet, Roddy Frame, Giant Sand, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Grandaddy, Guided By Voices, Interpol, Linton Kwesi Johnson, KaitO, Killing Joke, King Crimson, Lambchop, Liars, Los Lobos, Love, The Magic Band, Aimee Mann, Marlowe, Mercury Rev, Charles Mingus Orchestra, Moloko, John Otway, Morrisey, Van Morrison, Neutral Milk Hotel, New Order, OutKast, Penetration, Pere Ubu, Pixies, Cat Power, Prefab Sprout, Radio 4, Rapture, Residents, ShelleyDevoto, (Smog), Subhumans, Super Furry Animals, Tindersticks, Ari Up, Tom Waits, Scott Walker, Walkmen, Wilco, Wire, XTC, The Zutons and !!! are all secretly going to be appearing at
Spydafest on Portland, June 25-27.
Now you may think I've completely taken leave of my senses, but think about it - if they actually announced that all those bands / musicians were going to be appearing, then the 1,500 capacity limit of the festival could quite easily prove to be a little inadequate to meet the demand for tickets....
