I'm serious. Or I think I am, anyway. OK, I'm not. But I wanna see who actually picks the Black Crowes' to-stoned-to-realize-they-suck ass over the mighty Flag (in their prime, at least).

Chris Robinson got Kate Hudson pregnant.

Who've you seen Henry Rollins out with lately?

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 14 May 2004 04:54 (twenty-two years ago)

henry rollins did not sing "jealous again".

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 14 May 2004 05:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet he sang it at some point over the years and tours.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 14 May 2004 05:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Dez Cadena sang it foist.

"But I wanna see who actually picks the Black Crowes'"

It will probably be Ned since he just luvs the Black Crowes.

I saw Dez about a year or so ago playing shambolic guitar along to a boombox on stage with Ari Up at famed electroclash club Luxx. I quizzed him a bit after the show and turns out his day job is touring with the Misfits. He did not look like that scrawny kid getting pelted with beer cans in the TV Party video to say the least.

The current incarnation of the Misfits (Jerry, Dez and Marky Ramone) is a tragic, tragic thing.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 May 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Marky don't wear no pancake, muthaz:

Most apt.

I heard from someone who knows (ie, their manager) that Jennifer Gentle were contacted recently by Mr. Robinson, who proclaims himself a fan. This is perhaps his way of atonement, to get back into my good graces. Or not.

As for getting Kate Hudson pregnant, yeurgh. That's an alternatly gristly and far too buffed vision.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh Dez...has it come to this? So sad.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

He looks like a black metal musician.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

The "Misfits" should call themselves "Scabs" or "Turds" or something more appropriate.

black crowes!! (never heard the other one)

jel -- (jel), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:49 (twenty-two years ago)

"Jealous Again" is one of the few moments where Black Flag sounds as mighty as its rep (though "Nervous Breakdown" is even better). The Black Crowes one isn't bad but it's nowhere close.

Kris (aqueduct), Friday, 14 May 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, Chavo Pederast (Ron Reyes) sang "Jealous Again" first.

Pete Scholtes, Saturday, 15 May 2004 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

...but not in a recording studio.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 15 May 2004 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Why are we talking about the Black Crowes? I always liked Otis Redding's version better.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Saturday, 15 May 2004 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm kidding.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Saturday, 15 May 2004 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Chavo sang all the songs on the "Jealous Again" EP. Did I miss something earlier?

Pete Scholtes, Monday, 17 May 2004 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Ack, you're right Pete, you're right....confusing my dates.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 17 May 2004 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

You bet we got something personal against you.

sexyDancer, Monday, 17 May 2004 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not my imagination...

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 17 May 2004 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I've heard it before.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

ten years pass...

chris robinson was jealous of his bandmates' money.

how's life, Friday, 16 January 2015 00:04 (eleven years ago)

Didn't he get them kicked off a tour supporting ZZ Top after an on-stage rant about the commercialisation of music?

Pulsewidth, Friday, 16 January 2015 09:54 (eleven years ago)

Lol. You're right.

"I can understand them being defensive about corporate sponsorship. But we're not sponsored by anyone. We're the Black Crowes. We're sponsored by ourselves."
