yes, it's hip cool carlin suddenly discovering another 40-year-old up-to-the-minute hott platter.

i heard this on the radio last night. incredible, all the way from the basso profundo "Topsy - part TWO!" intro via the tuned drums to the stoned horn section which is the missing link between Kenny Ball and Carla Bley.

i must have this on cd. is it currently available? if so, where?

It's on this album, which is good all around, though I'm not sure how available it is in the UK.

thanks mike, i recognise the sleeve, i've seen those comps in the shops, so i'll have a look for it in town after work tonight.
