There's a really popular alt-rock song from the last couple of years -- as in, I've heard it on the radio at least a dozen or more times -- that to me sounds like Nirvana covering "Summer Nights" from the Grease soundtrack (it's the same I-IV-V-IV progression).
I thought it was the Vines, but then I listened to all of their singles on the iTunes store this morning and didn't recognize any of them as the song I'm thinking of. Is it possible it's not the Vines?
This'd be a whole lot easier, I realize, if I actually paid attention to lyrics ever.
