I am outraged at the cropped version of the Morrissey promo I listened to today (sounded nice though). I say we make our own cover(s).

didn't KORN do that a couple of albums ago, back when they were still somewhat relevant? had a big contest on MTV I remember, i'm pretty sure it was the Issues album.

has anyone ever used fan art for an album cover?

The Church did this for the A Box Of Birds covers album. They asked everyone on their mailing lists, etc. to come up with cover ideas and ran with the one they liked the best. Runner up covers were printed on the inside of the booklet.
