isnt it that crappy 'ride' by the vines?

I thought it was "Are You Going to Be My Girl" by Jet that was used in those ads. I read somewhere that those kids became millionaires in a week off residuals from iPod ads.
Made me seriously rethink some things I've said in the past about selling songs to commercials...

jet was the first ad. i dont think there were the billboards in that one.

It is that Vines song. They're touring with Jet now, in a double bill that should attract assassins worldwide if we have any luck.

i think that little turd craig nichols is quite capable of offing himself in a suitably stupid and fitting manner.

Maybe Jet will OD on coke.

Oh, you said 'coke.' A close second, you are.

you don't get residuals from commercials, stupid. you just get one lump sum, stupid.

Musicians and actors get residuals from commercials, though sometimes songs that are non-union are just bought outright. I have a few friends who have both acted and had songs used in commercials and they've made a LOT of money from the residuals. Some haven't since the commercials didn't run long enough (13 weeks is the minimum, I think? could be wrong)

depends on the contract, but generally national commercials do pay residuals.

it depends on your publishing deal (if you have publishing), too.
