Are there any companies out there, net or retail, that sell genuinely cool t-shirts? Something truly unique without lame slogans all over them?

Oh, c'mon! You don't love those "I see dumb people" shirts?

is it logos in general you don;t like, or just bad logos?

buy cheap blank t-shirts
buy can of spraypaint
make stencil
etc

Cool? Hard to know what you find cool. If you think these designs are cool:

If I tell you where I get my cool t-shirts from, they will start to lose their cool, won't they?

Urban Outfitters were never cool, ___.

Once something is sold in Urban Outfitters, it is quite officially no longer cool. And yes, this does indeed include CBGB and Ramones t-shirts.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 15 May 2004 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

...and "Jesus Is My Homeboy" shirts were NEVER funny, btw.

Actually, there is one "cool t-shirt" (or at least "cool" by my standards) that's I'd sell some precious bodily fluids for. It's an ancient 2000ad Brian Bolland Judge Dredd t-shirt. It features the four dark judes (Deah, Mortis, Fire and Fear, for those of you playing along at home) standing over a bunch of dead bodies, and it reads; "YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED...AND THE SENTENCE IS DEATH!" Phil Oakley of the Human League can be seen wearing same in the video for one of tracks he did with Giorio Moroder in `85. Remember seeing a lot in geekboy comic stores at the time, but never got around to getting one. Now it's like my Holy fuckin' Grail. The search continues.

"NEW JERSEY: ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE" PLZ DIE

now THAT i'd put on a t-shirt

don (don), Saturday, 15 May 2004 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I still wear my Lobo t-shirt. Okay, maybe Lobo isn't Judge Dredd, but I'm still fond of the shirt. I don't wear my Bukowski shirt that I bought at Bleeker Bob's in 1985 anymore though. It's just not "me" anymore. youknowwhatimean?

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 15 May 2004 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I does. I have a "Reid Flemming: World's Toughest Milkman" t-shirt that I don't wear anymore for the same reason.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 15 May 2004 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

American Apparel shirts are the nicest. They're plain, though.

jordache, Saturday, 15 May 2004 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

OK if bragging (?) abt previous tshirts is allowed then I bought
one described as

Dog amidst flowers, thinking about machinery. Black on orange.

on first mailorder sight of description. From Two Matching Labradors, the tshirt divison of Cordelia Records. It so reuels. God im pissed.

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 15 May 2004 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't wear my CRASS shirt or my GWAR 89 Tour shirt OR my Stevie Ray Vaughan 89 Tour shirt anymore cuz I'm too fat now. :(

Ah, youth.

Jon, dude, that site is crazy. did you design it?

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 15 May 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

No, but I ♥ their style.

NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS REMIND YOU THAT ZERO IS ALSO A NUMBER (ex machina), Saturday, 15 May 2004 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I like white t-shirts. You can buy them at nearly any apparel store. The only drawback is that if you are a slob like me its hard to hide the stainage.

Ha, well, I've never ordered a shirt from it.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Sunday, 16 May 2004 08:18 (twenty-two years ago)

that site was dissappointing. i thought they were going to be seling shirts that they had stolen.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Sunday, 16 May 2004 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I tend to go with plain t-shirts, or if I download a load of music from a little indie label, tend to buy a few of their t-shirts to make myself feel a bit better about myself.
